STORY
BAGHOU KENAREH
Baghu Kenareh is a village in the Central District of Bandar-e Gaz County which is the entrance gate to Golestan province, with a beautiful beach and forests covered with Hyrcanian trees.
Bandar-e-Gaz became an important economic and commercial hub of the Astarabad region with the construction of a large warehouse by the Russians from the Qajar period and the time of Mohammad Shah.
The influence of the Russians in this city was so great that it can even be seen in the language and culture of the people of Bandar-e-Gaz and sometimes its effects in the local language of the region. The city also has a lot to say in the field of handicrafts in Bandar-e-Gaz, such as kilim weaving, felt weaving and needlework.
Bandar-e-Gaz has tourist attractions on both north and south sides. Located on the northern side of the city, Gorgan Bay and the Miankaleh Peninsula, this area, in addition to being a wildlife sanctuary of Miankaleh, is also one of the important biosphere reserves. This area is also a good place for research activities in the field of birds and aquatic animals.
Bandar-e-Gaz beach complex also has a significant position in terms of attracting domestic and foreign tourists. On the south side, among the deciduous forests, there are promenades that have unique charms.
Due to the low sea level, this city does not have any altitude and is completely flat and plain.
The most important water resources for attracting tourists and travelers in Golestan province are the Caspian Sea and its beautiful beaches with very original, pleasant and spectacular landscapes. The shores of the Caspian Sea in connection with the green plains and high mountains of Alborz is one of the most spectacular and interesting parts of the province.
One of the remnants that tells the history of the city is the “lighthouse” a tower that was built on the coast by the Russians during the Qajar period, which shows the dynamism of the city at that time and In fact, it was the guide of ships that came to Gorgan Bay for export and import and anchored on the shores of Bandar-e-Gaz.
